JCC Maccabi Games started in 1983 with a big mission. It was designed in order to: provide Jewish youth with a supportive environment that fosters mutual respect and sportsmanship, where they can interact in an atmosphere of fun, democracy, and peace; cultivate a deeper understanding and instill an appreciation of Jewish values within Jewish youth, enrich their Jewish identity in an informal setting, and encourage their identification with the state of Israel; promote and encourage the health, physical fitness and well-being of Jewish youth through participation in recreational and athletic activities; and introduce Jewish youth to the international Maccabi Movement, which presents athletic, cultural, and social opportunities with Jews from around the world.
JCC Maccabi ArtsFest began in 2006 in Baltimore, Maryland. It is a weeklong arts experience for creative Jewish teens ages 13-16. It features home hospitality, includes opening and closing events, workshops, performances, exhibits, community service, and social activities, while it strengthens bonds to Jewish heritage, community and Israel.
JCC Maccabi Israel is a project of two partners; JCC Association and Maccabi World Union. JCC Association is the continental umbrella organization for the Jewish Community Center Movement, which was started in 1854 and includes 350 JCCs, YM-YWHAs, day and resident camp sites in the U.S. and Canada. Building on the 100 years of experience and the success of programs across North America, with JCC Maccabi Israel, we know you will have an unforgettable journey.
